Patchouli essential oil – Pogostemon cablin – is processed from a bushy herb of the mint family, cultivated in tropical environments. Our Patchouli oil comes from Indonesia where some of the best Patchouli is grown in sustainably managed plantations and giving employment to rural communities.
Originally used to scent linen and clothes and was popular a herb to help prevent disease.
Patchouli Essential Oil is produced from steam distillation of the leaves, drawing a deep earthy aroma used to aid in addressing personal ailments from depression to inflammation, anxiety and stress.
Patchouli oil is a reminder of the early ‘hippy days’ where the oil was very popular in body balms and for diffusing. Try our Patchouli oil in a diffuser with citrus oils and sandalwood – yummy!!
Patchouli essential oil blends well with other oils including eucalyptus. A few drops included in some of our essential oil blends and used in a vaporiser gives an added degree of deep sensual healing.
Blended with Buddhawood essential oil makes an interesting pulse point fragrance in our Buddha Shy fragrance. A very masculine as a soft woody aroma which works well in a beard oil, a massage oil with your favourite carrier oil or whilst in the shower add a few drops to the floor where the warm water will steam the aroma to help stimulate the senses.
Patchouli is also known to be a good fixative in hand made soaps and perfumes. Try Heritage Oils hand made Patchouli soap, freshly cold pressed using coconut and olive oil and scented with pure and natural Patchouli essential oil.
Use your Patchouli Essential Oil sparingly and it will last you a long time. Store below 30° and keep out of the reach of children. Do not ingest.
