Manu??Manuka essential oil?has special?properties and after much research, able to support the immune system against common skin infections, ringworm, athlete?s foot, nail fungus, cold sores and candida albicans. The oil can also be used in the family as a general antiseptic to assist with the healing of?cuts, insect bites, and abrasions.
Manuka essential oil is steam distilled from ‘wild harvested’ plants growing in the remote East Cape region of New Zealand’s North Island. This region produces Manuka oil of the highest quality containing the highest levels of naturally occurring antimicrobial triketone compounds. (see references below for further information).
Independent studies on Manuka oil:
The Cawthron Institute in Nelson and the Otago University Microbiology Department have conducted?in-vitro testing of East Cape manuka essential oil against a wide range of pathogens and concluded that this special type of manuka oil was:
- Several times?more effective against strains of fungi,
- Effective?against gram negative bacteria and viruses.
These studies confirm that East Cape Manuka oil supports the skins natural immunity to;
- Cold sores
- Ringworm, jock itch and athlete?s foot.
- Body and foot odour
- Warts and Verrucas
