Juniperberry Essential Oil – juniperus communis – is steam distilled from the needles, wood and berries of the common Juniper, an evergreen tree which grows up to 6 metres in height in the Himalayan region The oil is pale in colour with a sweet woody odour.
Sprigs of Juniper were used in ancient times to purify the air in homes and especially in the Buddhist temples of Tibet.
Juniperberry Essential Oil has its Aromatherapy uses in addressing urinary infections and helping to expel the build up of uric acid in joints.
Juniperberry oil is addressed for the treatment of ailments in the British Herbal Pharmacopoeia for rheumatic pain and cyctitis. This essential oil has also been known to be used as a massage oil in persons suffering from gout.
Juniper oil blends well with many other essential oils including cedarwood, vetiver, WA sandalwood, lavender, clary sage and pine. These blends work well in a diffuser especially with the Juniper oil to refresh and clear the air of your home or office or even the car.

For topical use, add the oil to creams or vegetable oils but always try a skin test first before applying to the skin.
