Grapefruit Oil – Citrus x paradisi – is 100% pure, cold pressed from the peel of the large succulent white grapefruit. This variety of fruit is not a high yielding oil during the processing.
The delicate aroma of Grapefruit Oil does not have the sharp backnote that you would expect from this fruit. In fact the aroma is delicate and sweet with those fruity undertones of citrus.
Grapefruit oil is non-irritant and can be used with a carrier oil (we suggest Hemp Seed Oil) or blended with essential oils like the WA Sandalwood and Buddhawood for a pleasant massage or for a different aroma, blend Grapefruit oil with Eucalyptus or with Blue Cypress essential oil for a tangy back-note to give your home made products and massage oils a refreshing lift.
Grapefruit oil is very enlightening and burns well in a diffuser with other citrus oils as a ‘fruit salad’ diffusion or with eucalyptus and Sandalwood oils.
Our Grapefruit oil comes with a Food Grade Certificate from the distillers. In this case it is safe to add to food however, we advise not to take it as a substitute for weight loss (as is being advertised) in a drink of cold water. Oils do not dissolve in water so you will be drinking pure oil which can damage some organs over time if taken often and in high dosages.
As with most citrus essential oils Grapefruit oil has a shorter shelf life than essential oils diffused from bark, leaves or wood. The oil keeps up to 6 months to a year which is why, if you are not using it often, buy a small amount at a time.
Keep in a cool space away from direct light to hold its shelf life. Keep away from the reach of children. If pregnant seek medical advice
