Cedarwood Himalayan Essential Oil – Cedrus deodara – is steam distilled using the wood of the Cedar tree which grows in the higher altitudes of the Himalayan region.
A lightly aromatic essential oil, often used to assist as a mild antiseptic or vaporised as a mild de-congestant although the warm, woody aroma can be quite specific.
This lovely rich oil has known properties of being an anti-fungal when applied topically with a carrier oil, and antiseptic for mild wounds and abrasions, and for general balance of body and mind.
Blended with a carrier oil, Cedarwood essential oil has known medicinal benefits as used by the indigenous people of the region for many hundreds of years. The oil has been blended to be used as a mild anti – inflammatory to assist in relieving aches and pains in muscles and joints.
Blend this essential oil with Lavender, WA Sandalwood or Orange Oils to give it a delicious aroma for vaporising.
Cedarwood Himalayan essential oil is popular as an addition to home made beard oils as it has been documented that this oil promotes hair strengthening and growth. (This may not be effective for everyone so it is always advisable to try a small amount in your product first without the evidence of dosage.)
Heritage Oils uses this oil in blends for calming and grounding. The oil’s warm, rich woody note resonating with citrus like Bergamot can be quite effective.
This oil should be avoided during pregnancy and not to be taken. Store your product below 30° and keep out of the reach of children.
