Cedarwood Atlas Essential Oil – Cedrus atlantica – is natve to the Atlas Mountains of Algeria where it gets it’s name.
The Cedarwood Atlas tree is a majestic evergreen. The wood is quite aromatic as it contains a high percentage of essential oil. Currently the oil is processed from the wood, bark, butts and sawdust residue.
The essential oil is more widely used in the Aromatherapy industry for skin problems.
Cedarwood Atlas Essential Oil was first steam distilled from the Cedarwood species grown in Lebanon. Many years ago, the inhabitants used Cedarwood Atlas for embalming, perfumery and skincare.
This essential oil is widely known for its assistance as an antiseptic, astringent and is used for its aphrodisiac properties.
The aroma is sweet and woody with warm undertones. A viscous oil, slightly yellow/orange in colour.
This special Cedarwood oil blends well with West Australian Sandalwood, Buddhawood, Bergamot, Rosewood, Ylang Ylang and many of the herbal essential oils and citrus to reduce the woodiness if required.
Heritage Oils blends Cedarwood oil with Ylang Ylang for a calming Pulse Point perfume or relaxing blend for the diffuser at the end of the day. It also makes a beautiful soap as an indulgent additive to the shower or bath.
