Cape Rose Geranium essential oil? 100% pure -?Pelargonium capitatum x radens (rose)?- is steam distilled in the South African Cape Province. This oil has a strong aroma typical of the pelargoniums we see growing in gardens and verges of temperate climates.

Other known uses for Cape Rose Geranium essential oil are as an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and as an agent to deter pesky insects like ticks and lice in both humans and animals as it contains the plant chemicals Geraniol and Citronellol.
This oil has been known to be popular with Vets for the eradication of ticks on animals, specifically dogs. A safe oil to use on animals blended with a coconut oil to not cause irritation to their skin.
History:?The plants originated from South Africa as well as Reunion, Madagascar, Egypt and Morocco. They were introduced to European countries such as Italy, Spain and France in the 17th century. In native Africa the herb teas was drunk to cure stomach upsets and stop internal bleeding. Throughout the centuries people have cultivated the plants around their homes to keep evil spirits at bay.
